Our next event: Royal Institution Engineering Masterclass
Nominate your pupils to join us for our online Royal Institution Engineering Masterclasses running across four Saturday mornings from 24 April. We have partnered with the Environment Agency to offer students a series of masterclasses exploring the issues of sustainability and our environment.
Pupils will be investigating real world issues related to our impact on our local environment and looking for solutions. The sessions include:
- the journey of plastics from source to sea and how to tackle the resulting pollution
- investigating how Britain’s coasts are changing due to erosion and how to engineer solutions to protect wildlife and communities
- how to prepare people for flooding and what impact floods have on young people affected by them
- using computer modelling to predict flood risk to communities.
The masterclasses will run on Saturday mornings from 10am -12.30pm (BST), and due to current restrictions will be delivered online by experts from the Environment Agency and Brunel STEM ambassadors. The dates for these masterclasses are: 24 April, 1 May, 8 May and 15 May 2021.
Spaces for the masterclasses will be limited so if you are interested please nominate your students and ask their parents to complete the consent form here. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
