Dr Andreas Georgiadis - I am currently the Director of Business Accreditations and Reader in Economics at Brunel Business School and a research associate at the Department of International Development of the University of Oxford.
I have a Master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and studied for a PhD in Economics at the University of Bristol and the University of Cambridge. I have previously held posts at the University of Oxford, the London School of Economics, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Bristol. I have also being a visiting scholar in the University of Pennsylvania.
I have published in journals such as British Journal of Industrial Relations, Economica, International Journal of Economic Behaviour and Organisation, Journal of Human Resource Management, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Social Science and Medicine, and Lancet Public Health.
My research has been presented and informed decisions of governments and policy-making bodies around the world, such as the UK Low Pay Commission, the UK Department of International Development, the Ministries of Labour and Finance in Greece, and the Ministries of Education and Health in China and Ethiopia.
I have researched, consulted, and co-ordinated projects for International Organisations, such the World Bank, the OECD, and the USAID.
My research has been funded by leading funding bodies, such as the ESRC, the US National Institutes of Health, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; and has been featured in the mainstream media, such as the Economist, the BBC, and the Guardian.
I have served as a referee of reseach grant applications and a member of panels evaluating and awarding reseach grants in the UK and in several European countries and I am an active reviewer for a wide range of journals in Economics, Human Resource Management and Employment Relations, Development Studies, and Social Epidemiology and Public Health.
