Innovative research areas of our Members include:

  • Fundamental understanding of Human performance, biomedical and neuroscience regulation, including neural modulation, neuroinflammation, brain and behavior, to inform on translation into technology with impacts on health and rehabilitation.
  • Data science/wearable technology and Rehabilitation – bringing the two worlds together
  • Haptic Feedback, MultiSensory interfacing and Robotics in Health and in Health Education including medical and therapeutic simulation
  • Immersion and Engagement in Virtual Rehabilitation; incorporating gamification and digital arts for translation to enhance immersion and engagement to online learning on health, rehabilitation and education platforms.
  • TeleHealth /TeleRehab and Virtual Rehabilitation
  • Smart (wearable) technologies to promote health and rehabilitation outcomes
  • Data Analytics: using AI and Machine learning to improve diagnostic, understand disease progression and disability outcomes including translational medicine/rehabilitation and enhance rehabilitation protocols
  • Modelling and Simulation to understand human behavior, illness and health economics will for example consider clinical pathway simulation (e.g. COVID Crisis / pandemic prediction/management)
  • Open Science – leading on developments to standardize sharing of data and contribute to a series of policy papers
  • Triangulation of multiple data sources with use of advancements in computing technologies (G5 and Mobile Edge Computing) to enhance diagnostics, health monitoring and rehabilitation, especially relevant for COVID-19.
