Gain valuable work experience while studying your nursing degree with supervised practice placements.
On your nursing undergraduate degree, you’ll gain the knowledge and experience to specialise in either Adult, Mental Health or Children's Nursing*. You’ll have the opportunity to experience a minimum of 2,300 hours of placements in areas such as hospital wards, the community and Emergency Units. There is also the possibility of choosing your own elective placements, so you can start building a career in your preferred area as soon as you graduate.
For those already qualified with initial nurse or midwife registration you can continue to build your understanding as well as add work experience in the areas of Health Visiting, Occupational Health Nursing or School Nursing. On your Specialist Community Public Health Nursing degree, you'll gain valuable work experience with half of your time spent on supervised practice placements.
If you have specialised in Occupational Health Nursing you’ll gain practical experience within occupational settings in either the public or private sector, and be supported by a qualified and experienced practice teacher.
We have great links with the local NHS and Community Trust, as well as with organisations employing occupational health nurses. 100% of our students secure work in their specialist field every year.
Our London location is also ideal for access to a wide variety of fieldwork placements so you’ll graduate with exceptional clinical placement experiences on your CV.
*These courses will be open to Home applicants only for 2022 entry. As a nursing student on one of our new undergraduate degrees in Adult, Child Health or Mental Health Nursing, you could receive at least £5,000 a year grant funding which you don't need to pay back. See the UK government website for more information.
