The Water Conservators Water Engineering Bursary 2020-21
For students on the Water Engineering MSc Course
The Water Conservators Water Engineering Bursary is awarded by The Worshipful Company of Water Conservators, a Livery Company of the City of London. The company has a particular interest in issues related to water and the environment. It is anticipated that for the 2020-21 academic year that the Division of Civil & Environmental Engineering will award a single bursary of £2,000 towards the tuition fees of the successful candidate.
Students wishing to apply for the bursary should, in addition to having a formal offer from Brunel University London on the Water Engineering MSc programme, prepare a 500-word essay or report that clearly indicates their interest in water and their future career plans in a related field.
The award is only open to applicants who have been working or studying in the UK for the past 4 years (since September 2016).
The criteria for selection of the successful candidate are:
No application for the bursary will be considered unless the candidate has a formal offer from Brunel University London on the Water Engineering MSc programme. The applicant should demonstrate:
- An interest in, and understanding of, issues related to water, which may be demonstrated through previous studies, membership of organisations or voluntary groups.
- An ability to communicate critically and effectively, at an appropriate academic level. This should include references to the literature where appropriate.
- We may request that shortlisted candidates be interviewed to discuss their application.
