Summary
Stuart Andrews is an interdisciplinary researcher, who investigates strategies and practices of 'performing' place. He focuses on addressing and facilitating situated local responses to local and global challenges, primarily in cities. Stuart co-directs Performing City Resilience, a research project that works internationally to facilitate innovative strategic responses to city challenges. Currently, this activity involves rethinking pandemic population measures in response to Covid 19 (UK/US), culture and environmental strategy (US), and city resilience strategy (US). He has published internationally on art, architecture, culture and performance and on emergency planning, city resilience and crisis response; publications comprise books and academic articles, professional reporting and blog posts to share emerging findings. Stuart teaches and supervises projects in a range of areas, focusing particularly on place and performance, and practices of making, reflecting on and analysing artistic and everyday practice.
