Summary

Hello!

I am a doctoral researcher in the department of psychology, investigating psychological (emotional) abuse in adolescent romantic relationships, primarily centring the experiences of Black girls and women in England.

My current study aims to engage with adolescents and the public to gather insights about the prevalence of abuse directed at Black girls, the long term impacts on health and wellbeing and predictive indicators for early intervention. The current landscape of support and education available to adolescent girls in England that address psychological abuse will also be assessed. This research will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of psychological abuse, specifically among Black teenage girls in England. This can ultimately inform further research and inclusive education and practices surrounding psychological abuse.

I am a qualified teacher(psychology/social sciences) and passionate PSHE educator, also experienced in advisory, management, research and executive roles in local government, the charity sector, and social enterprise.
