I graduated with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences (with Professional Experience) from Brunel University London in 2018, with 6 graduation prizes from both Brunel University and the Royal Society of Biology for the recognition of academic performance, best dissertation and participation in extracurricular activities. I developed an interest for childhood cancers during my placement year as a laboratory research assistant within the Leukaemia and Chromosome Research Laboratory at Brunel. I took part in several research projects on the genetics of leukaemia, both at Brunel University and at collaborating institutions in Italy and the UK. With these experiences, I progressed into my current PhD programme, which focuses on the development of a cellular model for infant leukaemia using gene editing.
