Occupational Therapy Student Conference

Since 2016, Brunel occupational therapy students from various cohorts have come together to collaborate with clinicians and experts in creating a conference that inspires and engages all who attend.

The theme for this year’s Occupational Therapy Student Conference will be The Transformative Power of Occupation. It aims to explore the various dynamics and influences of occupation from the use of creative and innovative therapy, as well as evidence-based practice, to shed light on the ever-present “transformative power of occupation”.

Through interactive workshops and seminars, this year’s conference will provide participants the opportunity to learn from insightful speakers and experts with a range of different experiences and clinical backgrounds - from mental health, stroke and neurology and schools, to homelessness, animal-assisted therapy and occupational therapy within a multicultural Asian context.

It also includes special keynote lecturers Jane Reynolds and Helen Mason. Jane not only supports community forensic mental health as an occupational therapist, but also directs as a Northern Ireland mental health arts and film festival director. Helen brings therapy to life as the founder and current CEO of Animation Therapy.

The student conference will be a full fun-filled day of events. It will enable participants to mingle with others from close by and distant universities and countries, providing opportunity to gain an international perspective on occupational therapy. Seats are limited, so reserve yours today!
