Brunel alumni are very welcome to use the library on campus. You will need an alumni card to enter and can use the space for personal study - you are also eligible for free reference membership, which provides you with access during core hours. To use the Library in this way, the staff will need to verify your alumni status and will ask you to sign in at the Welcome Desk when you arrive and present your alumni card. Please also bring a form of photo ID (such as a driver’s licence) with you on the day.
If you would like to borrow items, Alumni borrowing membership costs £20 per year, a saving of £60 on the standard charge, enabling you to borrow up to 6 long loan items at any time.
Restricted loans are reserved for students only, due to the high demand for these items. If you are looking to access a specific book, we recommend that you look online at the Library Catalogue before visiting the Library. If the book is listed as an ‘overnight loan’, ‘three day loan’, or ‘one week loan,’ unfortunately you will not be able to borrow it.
Regrettably, there are no computing facilities available for alumni on campus due to licensing restrictions that apply to all UK universities, so you will not be able to access journals and electronic resources during your visit.
For more information about visiting the Library, please head over to their Visitors and Alumni section on the website. Alternatively, you can contact the Library on +44 (0)1895 266141, firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet @brunel_library if you have any questions or special requirements.
